A New guild Idea

Post by Shara Kaiser » Wed May 18, 2005 3:29 pm

Hello All, My name is Shara.

I have recently started a new guild on bioware, though our posts have been on three different servers for a bit longer I have about 32 members in total as members in bioware and members on servers.

I have spoken with a member of the Avlis Staff about allowing my guilde to set up in one or more of the linked worlds, so this is a request as well as to gather player imput and attention to my guild.

My guild was made from the idea's of a few and mainly from my book that I am writeing. My guild is named after my Three main characters race, "Draconic Nymphs" The founder of this guild is the off spring of a Silver Dragon and a Nymph, (this is also my main Charcter that I play, her and her two sisters).
The guild calls to all creatures that have dragon blood within them, We also get Dragons of all colors to join our ranks.
This is the I.C. info on the guild.

<<<<>>>>

Greetings and Hail Dragon Kind!!

We are A guild of Dragon blooded sisters and brothers. Our goal is to unite our Fathers and Mothers and Bring peace to the land under their rule.

We seek Balance through them, and by them. We Follow them, and force them to cooperate with each other.

Our kind is being hunted almost everywhere, We will not stand it anylonger! The lessar creatures kill our kind and wear the remains on them selves! Even the Dragons that have protected them!. Others seek to use them and train them as PETS! or to Enslave them! or to mimic their shapes! We stand against those that would!

Yes even our own kind fights them-selves, But they all have two things in commen, Their great power....... And us! We are their pride, their blood, their mates.. We will unite the blood lines and return our kind to it's rightful place of power and as guides and leaders to the lesser kinds.

Shara Ray, Herald and Leader of The
Draconic Nymphs

<<<<>>>>

I've been told a name change might be inorder and I am open to comments and people wishing to join.

I have a long story about Shara Ray, and if I get a good reaction here I will post bits of the story here as well.

Greetings from the Plane of Arborea!!!!

I do like the Idea of your guild, and would ike some more information on it. Also, please check out the Arborea website at http://www.worldofarborea.com . Perhaps if you like what you see, and I like what I see, we can get something going. :)

Not being negative, just pointing out a few ground issues.

Firstly there are no half-dragons, only the RDD prestiege class, and that means you are only part Dragon, and it is specifically Red.

Other than that it sounds cool :)

Hmmm yes, I suppose your right, but for the fact that it's a "role play" world, also are you thinking about just one server? For the servers that use the cep, there is the full color set of dragon wings. Also the rdd class makes your charater "Half-Dragon" at level 10.

Let me make a point, As long as you RP it you do not need classes, as long as you are the part, you can be a member of our guild.

This is correct, but only so far, because no one has yet coded a half-dragon custom race. A new CoPaP world would probably be willing to do that.

Correct, you do not need a specific class. You can be a half-dragon wizard, sorcerer, fighter, paladin, anything.

However, you do need the race. People in CoPaP are not allowed to declare themselves a race unless they actually ARE that race on their character sheet. In other words, you can't play a human, for example, and call yourself a half-dragon after you simply write "Half-Dragon" in your subrace field. You must use the custom character creator NPC that we have to make you a half-dragon so your half-dragon has all the appropriate racial abilities, resistances, etc. Then it's kosher.

Doing it the other way is called "cheesing", which is a term I think I coined a while back:

Indeed, and that is what we are looking for, is a chance to create and grow, are their any other wolrd leaders that could give their imput?

I have read about the generator but have not used it. I would like to.

I will post my story up soon.

to learn about the character creator go to the Abyss 404 Server Log Command System guild on the bioware boards .... http://nwn.bioware.com/guilds_registry/ ... l?gid=6231

where you can download the system and its components.

I can put something together in a short time if you want, but I can't test it too well right now as I still have the issue with feats of the base race not being changed when the character is changed to the custom race...

*pokes teleri*

If anyone has any ideas about ECL and stats for this race, please either hassle me in the IRC room or post here. I'm not all too familar with realistic balancing.

Second, numeric assignments. I noticed that blocks had been mapped out in the racialtypes.2da file. Where would you like me to interject these races or shall I just go with new lines at the bottom?

Ok, scratch the request for stats. I managed to get them via Eindridi, thanks.

Does COPAP still use creature hides to add abilities? If so, can I still assign them duration character creation?

Yes, we still use character hides, but it's its own separate system from AutoBic. The hide item also needs to be hacked in a gff generator to get rid of its item level restrictions.

It's a pretty complicated process that I don't have the time to explain right now.

I have played my Character on a few servers, and on the one where It was built the way it should have been it had an ECL of 5 aka, maxxed, Cause she had bonus for being Nymph and Dragon, Also my Classes are Bard and two prestige so they also added something for that as well, not easy to level her though.

"BTW" I love haveing Silver dragon wings, they are so beautiful.

Thats going to be pretty much impossible for a few reasons, firstly, ECL (the way it is implemented here) gives you dummy levels, so you can only have two other classes.

Second, having two prestiege classes is.. not frowned upon, but very rare, if not non-existant.

Third, that would be an odd thing to do, to somehow mix two races (Half-Nymph, Half-Dragon). It would have to be implemented as a race in itself... (as you can't mix and match things, i.e. with a Tiefling, you can't select what the other part of you is, e.g. Elf).

Just looking at this from a coding perspective. The idea is nice, but the implementation is a lot of work...

I'm not sure why are you??

Anyway, the two prestige classes being brought down to one is fine the way I built it in sp and on servers where there is no subraces was by takeing the rdd, (cause it was the only class that accually had anything to do with Dragons stat wise) But when I have can build it with a sub race it is only two. And I prefure haveing the ability to add to my main classes.

btw, How is subraces made in CoPap? are the additions and subtractions like a magical bonus, or is it done in the build it's self with alterations, useing a character haker, like leto? (I prefure the later)

also btw, I added my first portion of my characters story to the "In Character" forum and will add the next part right now, so if you want look at it and get a feel for my character and if you wish you can tell me what you think of it. I wrote it a long time ago and have altered it a few times.

Shara, one of the custom races I was thinking about putting in was Half-Dragon. Mainly Silver or Gold dragon, half-dragons casue in the D&D universe, only those that can Poly at will, and not via spell could create halfs.

Example: Gold, Sliver, Steel, and Deep have Poly as an innate ability, meaning they have another true form besides being Dragon. Most Choose Elven or Half-Elven. In Dragonlance, Silvara a Silver Dragon and Gilanthilous an elf, fell in love. Much like Huma, and his Silver dragon did. So that is one example.

The Chormatic, such as Red Dragons, even ancient ones, do not posses innate abilities of Poly. So there is no way to Have a true Half Red Dragon character. Even the Half-Dragon campaingne setting ruled that. One reason why I disagree with the Red Dragon Disciples.

Thanks,
-Tristan

Sub-races, and Custome races permenetly alter the Bic file. So once you create the character, and use the custom creator, it will change the bic forver, with the altered stats. My suggestion would be to apply to CoPaP and Create a custom charatcer on one of the servers taht has the CC available, like Outlands, Avlis, Hala to name a few. Doesn't have to be your main, but then you will see how it works.

Shara Ray and all your other guild members would be starting off at first level correct?

BTW interesting storyline
The Lord's Prayer is 66 words, the Gettysburg Address is 286 words, there are 1,322 words in the Declaration of Independence, but government regulations on the sale of cabbage total 26,911 words.

SRD Half Dragons have a ECL of 10 and insane abilities just like RDD, but there was a way around it in the "complete book of half dragons". There were specified different half dragon categorys, if i recall right from 1 to 7 with 7 being almost a dragon 4-5 was something like a RDD and category 1 was almsot human like... i would need to find it again but i think it could be interesting to have those "category 1" half dragons with a low ECL about 1.

Because a large faction within the legion were dragon kin/half dragons, and the legion itself was made up of various outcast/misfit weird race combinations ;)

(The observation was no complaint, the Legion of the Chimera was an interesting faction, if ultimately misguided :))
