I've really been wanting to try my hand at DMing. I've done PnP DMing for years. If you're willing to let me go slow as I learn the client, let me know.

I suggest you choose a CoPaP world, join it as a player, then when you are comfortable with that world, apply to join the staff as a DM. Alternately, the worlds that are currently in development and haven't "gone live" yet may be looking for DMs now - you could try contacting them.

Don't Worry Banner I did the same thing. They tell you to post here but really mean to go to them. Don't figure.

It's just that players are centralised and DMs are specialised. If you play on any CoPaP world, you're automatically entitled to play on all others too. Not so for DMing. Each world hires their own DMs.

On Avlis we require the DMs to have a good working knowledge of the world information and background. A huge PW is not like PnP where you can just wing it if you don't have the answer. Each decision might not only affect your own plot and current players, but also the plots of other DMs, the fates of many other players and the future of the world as a whole.

That aside: good and motivated DMs are always in demand. Having some PnP experience definitely helps.

I find that anyone who advertises their availability on the CoPaP boards is likely to see interest from the smaller worlds. These worlds don't often have the same process for hiring staff that Avlis has and don't get near as many people applying to work for them as they are in fact smaller than Avlis. If you wish to work for Avlis, you need to apply directly to them for a position. If you wish to work anywhere else, advertising here will get you attention from several places usually.

If we are voted into CoPaP, I think you can join as a DM in our world Zorlan!
