CoPaP

Is that a possibility, could be handy to have an irc channel to camp on for worldbuilders and scripters, so we could bs while we work, ask for a hand with various issues. They had a good one setup for ALFA, I know that avlis has one but I would gather that its got primarily players on there, would be nice to have one just for developers and world builders.

I don't quite know how we got our own channel for Avlis because it was someone else who did it. But I'm sure the same thing can be done for copap dev or general copap if desired.

If you have a server that can host it hermyt, Ventrilo is a great way to handle it. That is what we do on Ea.

I prefer unreal IRC, and my webhost allows me to have subdomains (instead of an IP i can actually have irc.websitename.com). As i said, i would host, but IRC is more of a strain than you think, and considering its my NWserver, i just can't do it.

I know some people who know how to setup an IRC channel in Stratics , so we could just make one there. Almost all other CoPaP channels i know of are there to.

Stratics would be good.

it's actually pretty simple:

when logged in to Stratics, type
voila, new channel.

Now, the interesting thing is to make this channel permanent, and to have it watched by some bot, so that no one else can take over the channel.

For this, stratics has the chanserv bot. To use that thing, you need a registered nickname on stratics, so you can effectively log in there with a password. Once you have that, you can type (fill in the content you actually need of course)
finished, you'll have now set up a nice channel for the topic of your choice.

I can't do that right now from where I am, but I'm sure someone will have done it in the next 7 hours till I'm awake again...
