I will go on a limb and say it sweeps all the top ones it got. Best Picture if nothing else.

Damn, I missed it... And by the sounds of it, it was the first one worth watching, ever. It's about time the oscars start going to the good movies.

It's at times like this I think to myself in the voice of Gimli - "Tha's still only worth one!"

Well, here's to hoping that Peter Jackson's next movie will be just as bestpicture-worthy as LotR.

You mean King Kong? I dunno. That's gonna be a challenge. It IS one of the greatest old movies of its time, but would a recreation of it be any different than other recreations of things like Batman or Spiderman? Those were good movies, but not best picture winners.

I consider that movie to be a side project, something to work on while he thinks of something good to do next.

RotK stands in my book as the best movie I have ever seen, and I have only been to see it one time. I was blown away. It deserved all 11 Oscars it got.
<Daerthe> There is only room for so much realism before things start to get silly.
