What kinds of items should not be seen?

Saw a lot of ruckus over Greater Masks of Persuasion being sold in one world, because they are too high magic for CoPaP. There were also a lot of folks upset that the masks weren't reported, and even more upset that some were selling ones they had bought. Myself, I saw the masks, bought one myself, showed the merchant to friends, cause I had no clue it was something I should report. Are there any guidelines anywhere about what should or should not be allowed?

There is a link to the Articles of Confederation right on the front page. In there, you will find EXACT specifications of what should and should not be found in a world, and under what circumstances.

From there you can easily see what things are mistakes and what things are natural.

Even more importantly( for me, 'cause I'm curious), I wonder what items people would like to see for purely roleplaying value?

Like fencing swords that deal no damage, but allow you to practice fencing

Or plot marked pipes, so you can smoke the mellowsmoke in Limbo(Gallix would never leave) (maybe could be used as a guild token for Forian's fold?) ( this one is important to me)

There are probably a lot of items that would be good for only Roleplaying, besides the few that have a purpose in combat.

Oh and GreyLinx, if you see an uber sword of mass destruction +5 with +2d6 of every elemental damage, marked plot, with haste and true seeing, selling on a bioware merchant for 0 gp, you probably shouldn't buy it, and you might want to report it.

and uh, what relation do spelljamming vessels / items have to this? some are worth far more than any normal magical item (in fact some ships and helms would qualify as "epic" according to the ELH)? should only some be available? or is that pretty much up to world discretion?

Well, for one thing, Spelljamming vessels will be very expensive to buy. So a person leaving from Avlis would need to come up with hundreds of thousands of gp to get one. I don't have a problem with that. People would pool their money together to buy a ship and then all ride it together, if that's possible with your hakpaks, which I hope it is.

Characters native to SJ worlds would probably need to be marked as such in the database, which makes them eligible for doing quests to get the ships for much cheaper, no?

yes, they'll be able to ride together with the new scripts (the thing that's taking so long ;) the old ones were much simpler but didn't allow such neccessary thing)

as for natives... I'm not exactly sure what to do about that. My thought is to give them a starting ship and helm, total "value" of about 50,000 gp. However, they could only sell that all for maybe 20 - 25k best. If they sold it, they'd be screwed ;) Stuck on whatever rock they were currently on and forced to do the small subset of quests available there to buy it back (at a cost of around 60k).

They also would be unable to get to any other world because the starting helms will be unable to travel in the phlo. They'd have to do spelljammer quests to earn the 100k to buy a minor helm to be able to sail there.

Once they did manage to sail to another world, unless it has a SJ culture (and the scripts to back it up) they'd be unable to sell all their expensive SJ'ing stuff... what's a fancy chair worth to a groundling? certainly not 100k

The alternative is to put starting chars on the SJ server in a place with enough quests to buy them a ship, but that might take a LONG time unless the quests are worth a huge amount.

One option would be to make most of the starting SJ'r equipment unsellable as its "worthless" to any real SJ'ing culture due to its crappiness... that sort of solves the problem
