Which cause of an inter-world portal opening is the coolest concept? Add your own if not listed...

The options could be described as -

Arcane: someone used magic to open the portal.

Nature: a phemenon of nature caused a portal to be opened.

Invention: a mechanical device was used.

Divine: an act of the gods.

Accident: an experiment gone bad, perhaps with one or more of the above, causes a tear in the fabric of reality.

If i remember correctly i voted accident in the past (why cant i see what i voted for months back anyway?).

My thoughts now are that it's not so much about the way a portal was created that fascinates me but the surrounding context, like, is it in a difficicult to access area or in the middle of mikona marketplace, is it a secret that is well-kept, let a portal appear in a player owned house (i know the issues with that). About the coolest thing would be a portal that doesnt stay in one place and maybe isnt even an obvious portal... maybe portalling occurs when you drink the muddy water from a certian pool. Or maybe its an animal that needs to bite you for you to be portalled.
The exitpoints could be funny, like in mid-air and you fall 300 meters or under water (i know about z-axis issues but with some clever scripting it coud be well simulated). Or simply a portal that needs to be "activated" by certain actions, e.g. a word to be spoken...
