Hala Website and News

There have been a lot of changes in Hala over the last few months.

The website has moved to it's new (hopefully) permanent location of http://eventides.net/hala/index.php

We have also begun implementing new portalling proceedures. The portals will no long be as easy to access as they once were. You must now go through a sort of Astral Conduit in order to portal from Hala into the Prime, Avlis. This was done to bring some more realism to the planar travel business as you really do not travel direction from a Prime to an Outer plane in such a way.

There have also been a lot of new areas put in and some changes to some old areas. Hope you all enjoy playing there as much as we enjoy building and DMing there for you.

Trying to get ahold of Coloures to find out. I'll post any news as soon as I know what's up. Likely that he took it down for repairs and just forgot to tell anyone....

Is it just me that can see the forums then. Had no problems at all looking at them or posting, but others seem to have trouble?

Must have had a domain change but kept the DNS... maybe the rest of us are just waiting for our ISPs to catch up *shrugs*

If Flakey can reach the forums, would it help if he gave us the exact IP-address so we can bypass DNS-issues? (total noob here, just asking  )

Would only help for as long as the IP doesn't change. It sounds like the forums might be on a dynamic IP.

Problem with domain names that point at dynamic IPs is that some ISP's DNS servers don't update very quick at all. Thus, some people can reach the site at the domain, others can't.

I might recommend using one of the many public DNS servers out there if your ISP's DNS server suck.

Ehm no.. i did not say that really in this form, as you made a emote with calling him Michael i thought you was refering to a group of posts some times ago as i think ginah or someone else called Methael somehow diferent on the IC boards and he started to hang out notes what his name is and i think as last i wrote "...and for sure not Michael or even Michel" :)

Sorry for the confusion :)

I tried to change my Half-Elf into a Tiefling a couple of minutes ago, and followed all the procedures outlined by the character creator NPC but when I logged back in [made sure to wait a while], I was wearing the 'Tiefling Outfit' but was still, for all other purposes, still a Half-Elf.

Is there something I'm missing here or is there a problem currently with this feature?

A nice player [forgot his names already, sorry :P ] told me that I should find a DM to help me out, how would I go about this?

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks alot. = )

Alright still no hala web site and its dammed difficult to run a guild when you cant even see your membership list. Its two weks now since the site was last accesable.

My suggestion shoot me down in flames if you want. Why dont we have a fundraising for hala. If everybody who plays on hala gave $20 that would pay for a proper web site and leave enough money for computer upgrades or replacement parts when they are needed.

I would happly donate £25 to get hala working properly (paypal is easy to set up). And i am sure others would be willing to do the same.

Can sombody elighten us what exactly is the problem with the hala forum now. Its been almost 3 weeks since it went down and we are no nearer a solution it seems.

Stepping down

It is with sadness that I announce the departure of myself from the Hala team.

Since I first came to this team, I believe the world of Hala has changed drastically for the better, and I have worked hard to make such positive changes.

As of late, however, things are apparent to me that I can no longer be a part of this team. I enjoy everyone on the team, and it has been a pleasure to work with them, but I must step down and out of my Veteran DM position on the Hala Staff.

Take care, guys and hopefully things will get in order.

I'll donate.

Sorry to see you leave -e'Kieron. You took over some plots/celestial&demon guild when no one else wanted them. While people are not always so quick to compliment, your work and efforts were really appriciated by many of us.

cheers

What grant said. Anyways, I may be able to help out in the forums department. So just drop me line if you all have not found something suitable.
