Shadow Dancer PrC's bugs, fixes and suggestions

Post by Rain&Clouds » Thu Dec 15, 2005 5:16 pm

Some months ago I started a discussion on the Avlis forums with some suggestions to the SD PrC, which eventually turned into a list with suggestions and bugs that needed to be fixed. This is the list:
1- Shadow Evade ( Duration )

2- Shadow Summon ( Healing it like a familiar )

3- Shadow Summon ( Shadow Lord's concealment )

4- Shadow Summon ( Making the shadow unturnable )

5- Shadow Summon ( Having the shadow's alignment match the dancer's )

6- Shadow Summon ( Shadow fiend attack script )

7- Darkvision - ( Broken )

8- Shadow Jump ( It's described in the PnP Shadow Dancer description )

Some of these were discussed right there on the forums, and bug number 7 has already been fixed. However, some of these other things (I was told) would need a CoPaP wide change in order to happen, and for things of that scope there was need for a discussion here in these forums.

I don't know which of these points the Avlis team has already discussed, or if they support/oppose any of them. This is the original thread I started ( http://www.avlis.org/viewtopic.php?t=55558 ), some issues were discussed there right away, some weren't... so if anyone plans on discussing them here, do read what was already said (it's not much ;) ).

Patience is definitely needed when waiting for a discussion on these forums.
I'd give thoughts but I know next to nothing about the class.
G'luck,

Shadow Jump is the only one that would take a CoPaP wide change to implement, but if you add shadow jump then there are alot of abilities other classes get in PnP but not in NWN.

A work around would be an item that grants a unique power once per day to teleport from your location to the targetlocation. But that adds weight, takes up inventory space, and would only work on the world(s) that has that item in there OnActivate script.

As far as beefing up the summoned creature..

That is on my To Do list for Hades. It is a very long To Do list and wouldn't effect you playing on Avlis in the slightest, only Hades.

The summoned shadow is controlled by a script that is can be changed to summon a different creature with more 'shadowy' like stats.

Shadow Evade is also controlled by a script that allows duration to be changed.

Darkvision is NOT broken. It works, but in the NWN engine the effects of it are negligable. It is hardcoded so not something that can be changed(that I am aware of). The reason why darkvision does not seem to work is because any ambient light source, be it a torch or the soft main light glow of a tilepiece, will eliminate the darkvision bonus.

What about having a Dimension Door (like psions) feat that only works once per day and at night time (for instance) ?

I think it used to be, SDs tested it by wearing items with Darkvision and saw a difference... but it was fixed in a patch or something :)

Thank you for your answers! I can be really patient, I was just making sure this was still being watched! :)
