Or as I just tested... may not work at all... hrmph...

I'll see if I can get those search tables up. Problem is that the one is so big that it doesn't get finished before my shell connection times out on me...

I'll try to fix it this weekend.

Searching After the Move

Searching after the move to the new host may be slow for a few days.

The reason for this is that the search tables didn't make the transfer.

Re: Just curious...

...to an Avlis world (or via world-jumping)? Btw, Avlis is one world. It just has multiple servers because the land mass they have simply doesn't fit in a single module on a single computer. ;) (Glad to see the boards up again  ) Thanks, I'm trying my best to get things back in top shape. At this time, no it is not.

There may not be an announcement when it becomes possible, though. It'll be up to each world involved to decide whether or not to announce a portal between them. Some worlds prefer for players to stumble across new portals ICly. ;)

Once Avlis' Vaultster update is live, and all the kinks worked out, the Avlis -> Tairis portal should work fine again. The Tairis -> Avlis portal is working fine, though.

CoPaP takes a little effort from the players as well. Because Avlis had not updated to 1.67, I was forced to disable the portal from the Tairis side. The effort this takes from the player's part is checking to see if such things have been re-enabled. The other reason this has happened, though, is th...

Twin Cities Server: Server is Back Up

A new power supply has been installed. After a lot of frustrated time spent trying to figure out how to connect everything, it is back. One line had three 4-pin IDE, and one 4 pin floppy, the other had two 4-pin IDE and one four pin floppy. There were two pairs of SATA power connectors, but they are...

Twin Cities Server: Downtime

At about 10pm, the overall system temperature began to climb. Increased cool airflow to the room didn't help, and the temperature continued the climb. The system is currently off. I will be cleaning the intake fan grills of any dust accumulation, inspecting the power supply fan (as no signal from th...

Portal openings are up to the involved worlds on whether or not they announce it. In many case, I'd suspect it wont be announced due to the rampant metagaming that tends to ensue. All I'll say on the situation right now is that more player useable portals are in the works. Want to know about them? F...

There have been test links, and "troubleshooting links" between Tairis and a couple of the other pockets. As for final, player useable links. The future is uncertain as far as more links to Tairis. There have been plans here and there. But that's all I'm willing to say on the subject at th...

Keep in mind that the above quote was probably made under the assumption that most people will try to run a large PW on a single computer. If we've learned anything from NWN1, that's just a bad, baaaaaadd, idea. EDIT: I don't even run 500 areas on the Twin Cities server, and never plan to. The curre...
