I agree completely. I constantly counsel the people here at CoPaP to start small and go live with only a few areas that are well-done. The trap that some folks get into is they want to make sure their world is *finished* before they put it online, and these worlds never go online, because no world i...

Good question, how many of the WIP's are still alive. Well, let's look at it. Arborea- Development proceeding, no equipment, thus no ETA on linking Ithilla- Development going strong, moving towards linkup asap Greyhawk West- Development going strong, no ETA yet on linkup Kingdom of Cormyr- Developme...

1) I think it would be a cool idea to explore creature level advancement. The classes must be tested and balanced, of course. In fact, every new class should be put on a test trainer mod first and have people jump in and beat the thing to death. We did this with psions for a long time before adding ...

Looks like it's using your nwn database, as evidenced by "nwn.ars_skills". There SHOULD be a table creation text file somewhere on the copap ftp site. Let me know if there isn't. I put one there many times, and it's up to date AFAIK. Filename should be something like "table create sta...

Thoughts on starting a PW

If you are thinking of starting a PW for CoPaP, or on your own, this is an informative thread you should read. It's a discussion among many successful (and some not so successful) PW makers, including myself. http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/myviewtopic.html?topic=413472&forum=66 Bottom line: Befor...

The idea has merit of course, but we need to be careful with it. Let me give an extreme example: A group of world/plane hopping Orc psionisists set up a guild on our Sigil server. Beautiful. Works great. Fits well there, and in a lot of other places too. Now let's say that group wants to branch out ...

To be honest, this is another one of those issues I'd rather just go back to ignoring. Who's with me? The numbers get more and more complicated, and we're dangerously close to messing with balance. I know, doug, that you are just trying to make spells cooler because of the new hooking code, but what...

Question: Why not just remove the max? Cure light wounds: 1d8+caster level healed, max 48. Cure Moderate wounds: 2d8+caster level healed, max 56. Cure Serious Wounds: 3d8+caster level healed, max 64. Cure Critical Wounds: 4d8+caster level healed, max 72. Empowering them would help a bit too. The per...

Easy Answer: Epic Levels

In order to compensate for the fact that level 25 and 26 characters are mopping up huge numbers of stuff, areas get built for the purpose of giving them something to do. Lower level people then walk into these areas and use them as xp powerhouses.

By the time Abyss actually links, that code will be in. It's mostly there already but not implemented yet and it still needs a few key things, but it's not far off.

No, you won't be able to server hop back. I believe Avlis already has code that stops you from entering it if you try to server hop back to it, but Mistcaller and PJ can answer that question better than I, since they worked on it.

Abyss404-Avlis Linking question continued

Continued from: http://www.avlis.org/viewtopic.php?p=468574#468574 First of all this is a very subjective question. :) Second of all, any time you have two closed systems (i.e. CoPaP and Abyss404) that suddenly get connected, you WILL get flow between them. Things always flow from highest to lowest ...

Tristan, if you don't have it already, I strongly suggest you go out and buy the 3rd Ed book "Manuel of the Planes". That book is the basis for what we're trying to do with CoPaP in terms of planar functionality. A good secondary source is anything Planescape. That's where all of teleri's ...

I am not against it, but I want to point out one thing. If your god is on Celstia, and you go to the Abyss, that's only two planes: Celestia to Outlands is one.... Outlands to Abyss is two. On the ring, you can never be more than two planes away from your god because Outlands is in the middle. As fo...

That code is dougnoel's area. PM him for access to it. I believe it's already part of the spellhooking code, but I could be wrong.

The spellhooking code is already in the copap ftp site.
