Pointing out what should be obvious to anyone familiar with how haks work: even if you change a little bit, you have to do a full redistribution to the whole of CoPaP. That means a new version of at least the CoPaP hak, which means your request needs to go through Themicles. I thought the cross-cla...

email distribution program

How many of you would be interested in a mail distribution system for in-game groups and news? What this would consist of is, you would have an account on it, and you could start mail lists for groups and guilds. You could invite whoever you chose - they could accept if they wished. If they accept, ...

For the record: the link plot between Avlis and Outlands has been planned since the previous release of the vaultSTER. That's months ago. It has been delayed for various technical reasons, much to the chagrin of both Outlands and Avlis teams. At this time I'm still waiting on the techsavvy people a...

as far as I know, the plot that will establish the Outlands - Avlis link is already running. It is my opinion as a player at this point that the decision to have a 'link plot' for the opening and closing of planar gateways, especially weeks or months long link plot, is detrimental to copap as a who...

I don't expect much out of NWN 2. I just don't. NWN built an architecture. Based on the company that is producing it and the amount of time they are taking (or, rather, not taking), I imagine that NWN2 will be a game, not an architecture. It will probably even be a fun game, but a not a lot of use f...

where to advertise?

I want to get together a list of sites (non-copap world sites) where I can advertise for major CoPaP-wide events. I'm going to go hunting myself, but if anyone has any reccomendations on where I should place announcements, please reply to this thread.

I was looking over some of the second edition matieral on the astral plane and found some interesting things that could be done coding wise to simulate some of the mechanic rules of that setting. Some of these include temporarily changing certain stats, making penlaties on ranged weapons for non-na...

I just thought of something fun!

You could implement the frenzied berzerker PrC in NWN! Yes, the most party-destructive PrC ever, bringing it's destruction to NWN! For those who haven't read the complete warrior, the frenzied berzerker is a barbarian on crack. As soon as he gets damaged, he has to make a will save or explode into a...

I might tinker around with it, considering that being player coordinator hasn't generated much work for me... I'll probably rig a test module and try to get my travel code to work.

Ethereal is a nice Idea, but I would rather see an Astral Plane Server. Reason: Ethereal links Prime to the Inner Elemental planes. The Astral links Primes with the Outerplanes. We have 0 Inner plane servers, but 5 of 13 Outerplanar servers. Just my 2 cents, -Tristan The problem is, of course, that...

CoPaP Focus Program FAQ

General [/u] 1. What is the Focus Program? The focus program is designed to open a window of opportunity to get started on a new server, or a server you have never been to before. By going to a server during a focus gathering, you are likely to bump into other new characters and friendly DM attenti...

Actually, there IS a rule. I can't find a link with it right now, but roughly, it's this: A CoPaP World cannot simply trap someone. I couldn't find it either, and I looked! That is pretty much what I wanted. Well, uh... everyone move along. Nothing to see here. Oh, one addendum: I think that a worl...

What this rule NOT means is this: For reasons of a running plot some things may be temporarily harder to do than others. Things might even be nigh impossible for certain characters. But guess what ? That's life! Your character is stuck in a place he doesn't like, and the only way out is too dangero...

Personally, the idea of a situation like the one currently employed on the Elysia server is awesome. It is made awesome by the involvement of the DMs that are constantly there. They try to involve everyone in something to help keep them busy and help keep it exciting. That's not easy to do, so yeah...

I really didn't want to get into discussion of the Elysian situation, but now that others have brought it up, I will. As of my departure (to Hala, as it turns out), there were 100% closed, 100% unbreakable baracades across the two main exits to Elysia. Thus, a player has to take one of the 'secret w...

I would like to propose an addition to the CoPaP charter

I would like to propose an addition to the CoPaP charter: Namely, that no server is, for IC or OOC reasons, to forbid characters from departing from the server. No server should be able to keep people from leaving to another linked server. No matter how 'big' a story arc is, it's not big enough to j...

Just to get a clearer picture here.... A designated range of times, and a wide range of times. Specifically, a week. If I wanted to...

Focusing the CoPaP player base

I ran a diablo II player group for the longest time. We used private games with fixed names to jump on and play with each other for the longest time. Later in the group's life, the group shrank, and I found myself at a loss to keep the group together. Too often, players would be at different levels ...
