Re: The CoPaP needs a Second Renaissance and a Major Remakeover

... possibly combining the CoPaP and Universal Hakpaks... The CoPaP Hak often gets updated with no Universal Hak update necessary. If we were to combine them, you'd have to download the entire size of both, every single time, even if no model/art content was updated. As for CEP 2.0, we have technic...

The current one wouldn't be removed. It would remain a choice. In fact, I'd probably end up making a modified copy of it that removes images, such as avatars, images in posts, and signatures.

Website: Add More Templates or Restore the Old Solaris One?

Should I add a bunch of templates and allow free choice between them, or focus on restoring the old Solaris theme that gave CoPaP it's cosmic look?

CoPaP Hak and Universal Hak

What brought me in on the CoPaP and Universal Hak? The first CEP merge into CoPaP. What an ungodly mess that was. When I came into working on the CoPaP and Universal haks, things were run in a "whoever wants to do the update, do it and we'll release it" sort of way. No version control. No real testi...

Simply put, Changlings didn't exist in the original design, and rules for the CoPaP and Universal Haks. It was always stated that as long as a player couldn't actually carry it across a portal, you can deviate from the CoPaP haks a bit. This meant you could add extra monsters to fight that didn't ha...

The DM polymorph wand on Avlis appeared to be causing movement rate issues as well.

The post above mine seems to be related in that a model change occured.

Actually, I think someone did finally release a version that works with CH. I'll see about getting it installed soon.

Re: a building dilemma

I am currently working on a PW with some associates of mine for NWN2. Main problem is, we are all okay at debugging scripts but aren't as good at making them. Are there any suggestions that people could throw out here? I am just looking to make solid and bug free scripts for the basic mod, i.e. dea...

Hi there everybody. I was referred to this board to learn about Copap and the NWN2 project. I used to play on Avlis and I travelled to hala and rockhome a few times and loved the connections and the idea of it. Players having the chance to take their characters to whole new adventures was something...

you can also always check the gamespy list, it'ss auto post there. DynDNS... Tairis has a dynamic IP. It only really ever changes if we lose connection, but it does change. Our DynDNS name plus a CNAME to the DynDNS name makes it relatively a non-issue that the IP changes. For Tairis, player...

If a permanent and likely to be implemented fix is found, could people be notified OOC'ly beforehand so that they can get their PC's to the world where their crafting level is at it's highest before it's done? The reason I ask this is that my PC will lose somewhere in the region of a couple of hund...

Updated info: If any world that DOES NOT run ACS or ARS is executing TransferCraftingXPToDB(oPC); in their module's On Client Enter script, then this will break crafting XP sharing being able to pass through worlds that don't use the same system. Why? Because executing that line will try to transfer...

Just to add my observations: my crafting xp from tairis did not transfer over to arkaz, either. The more I think about it, the more I think that unless a world specifically disables certain things, it'll get cleared just by visiting any world, whether they run Avlis' crafting or not... I'll look in...

Ah alright! *smiles* Thanks Themicles! So does Avlis plan to send and read crafting xp? The portal Avlis-Tairis, is really long up now... It did in the past, but while Tairis was running the last version of ARS, Avlis did a major rewrite and changed the name to ACS. This rewrite plugged a lot of ho...

Unless I'm reading that wrong, no that is not correct. Right now, Avlis is not reading, OR sending crafting XP. Tairis is doing both. This means that crafting XP gained on Avlis, which *should* transfer to Arkaz eventually, isn't. BUT Crafting XP gained on Tairis *should* be able to get all the way ...

some do some don't For example Arkaz uses the Avlis Crafting System along with Avlis and the portal system will send your crafting XP with you when you portal so you should show up of Arkaz with all of your Avlis crafting XP and the same should work the other way. However I'm not sure if anyone els...

Well for our part, the Akanaar PW Project pledges its support for a NWN2 version of CoPaP. We have discussed it as a group, and there will be at least four of our servers looking to join such an organisation. Medium. Still hand pick exactly who you want, but make sure you have enough to cover people leaving so that your team doesn't totally collapse. I made the mistake of small and hand picked early on in Tairis' life. It went well for a while, but then RL claimed a lot of my team and I never really reco...

If/when the new site goes up, there will be a link to it here somewhere. Probably in NWN General rather than an announcement though, since it will technically be an entirely seperate entity.

when you finish making an area in the toolset you have to bake it...what it does is convert the entire area into tiles and make the walkmesh...and a few other things as well..it's like compiling the area Kinda like scripts in NWN. No worries, you've provided the detail I knew I was missing. ;)

But my concern remains. Not over the download size, but over the disk space used on user's machines, since the game will not load a compressed baked mesh, AFAIK. ;)

I have no definite plans to make an NWN2 persistent world at this time. I will not make such a decision until the final game is released and we can actually test in the real world what the bandwidth requirements will be like, and how best to handle the walkmesh issue. If a 16x16 area walkmesh is 28 ...

I will provide full website hosting for a CoPaP2 if it should come about.

I might recommend that CoPaP2 take a different name than CoPaP, though.

I will even offer web hosting for CoPaP2 member worlds if they need it.

All of the above will be true even if I don't start an NWN2 world myself.
