I'm going to throw out a sugestion offten made in these threads as well. If you feel the death system isn't harsh enough... That there should be a bigger exp hit, or a loss of GP, or even perma death. You can always do this things yourself. It's a bit like the way some people played hard core diablo...

It means that the max value of a low level treasure is 1700, which is correct. I think "MAX" is the right thing to use here. The max isn't exactly the MAX possible. There are some rare cases I gather where that number can be increased, via the script. Or at least that's what Orl told us o...

Orleron wrote:Vanor, make sure you use that as your starting point for any table changes you make to nw_o2_coninclude.
Will do.

Right now, I'm focused more on updating the DB, then the script... So it will be a bit before I'm going to look at making any sort of change to any scripts.

As soon as this process is finished I'll post what I've done here. Maybe this could be a basis of the "rules" modifications you want to implement ? The rules won't change all that much really. But anything you do will be most welcome. The biggest change will be in what's stored in the DB....

Chas, I agreed to do the bulk of the monkey work for this on Avlis. Right now we're working towards altering the coininclude slightly, or at least I think slightly... To be more like the tables in the DMG, with better DB support for items that can drop. PM me or something and you, Aloro and I can ha...

That's a great comic strip :) I love how they throw mechanical terms into what is supposed to be a real adventuring party...

I was talking about the minions. Even then, there are going to be minions that the bulk of the characters can't touch, because without them the major NPC isn't going to be as much of a threat. There needs to be powerful and even epic lvl minions from time to time. However as I said elsewhere on thi...

Re: low level characters and long running events...

I don't think most low level people know how to get involved in ongoing plotlines when the opponent(s) is so powerful that they are 15 levels away from being able to survive one round with it. Good point. I think there's two ways to deal with it. One, is to give the lowbies something to do with in ...

We weren't looking to be involved in an event, we were travelling somewhere to explore someplace most of us haven't been before when a DM decided to spawn a bunch of things that most of us couldn't touch. I have no idea what happened there, so I can't comment about that one event. However myself I ...

How far can you realistically travel without getting involved in a fray? If you walk along a road and a DM doesn't see you, maybe. Otherwise, forget it. A 5th or so lvl PC should be able to travel from nearly any civlized part of Avlis to any other civlized part, without much wory. Please note that...
