Well, my system didnt use waypoints. The transition destinations are completely db controlled.
Triggers are still needed and that is why i say it was a prototype since you'd need to place a lot of triggers just in case that might not do anything.
Web control is not what would be possible with my idea.

That is in fact quite simple to do. I once did a prototype of a DB powered trantitioning system. I could iron it out (after digging it out again). Certainly that system shouldn't be used globally but only for certain transitions. New transitions could also be set on the fly with a dm wand whilst in-...

If you abstracted (the code) on the right levels you could base it on nealry anything... e.g. SDL I think all discussions about...

If i remember correctly i voted accident in the past (why cant i see what i voted for months back anyway?). My thoughts now are that it's not so much about the way a portal was created that fascinates me but the surrounding context, like, is it in a difficicult to access area or in the middle of mik...

Just pointing to the obvious:

and then in the service dialogue (Management console) activate "May interact with desktop"

Maybe that works better....

I see... well my experience with documenting projects is that if you want to do it properly you need about half the time in coding and half the time documenting. But there are also syngergistic effects when you modify a project often. I started heavily documenting my work about 1 year and a half ago...

Or maybe a standard copap module can be put somewhere? Anytime something in the core changes that should be reflected in all copap worlds one way or another you can see it in the module. I know that the copap guidelines are just recommendations and that means such a module would not be THE standard ...

DO:

Adjust the z-axis of placeables by minimal increments (e.g. 0.01) if you are covering an area with several flat placeables (dirt patches, carpets,...), This avoids the clipping errors occuring that can be highly annoying.

Wouldnt it also be possible to utilize the nwvaultster? As i understand it the problem we have is to transfer data stored on players in the db of a world to another world. We could do this with the variables in items, with some sort of external tool/protocol that sends the data directly to the db, a...

There still are a lot of people with dial up connections. So i think it might be a good idea to wait for the CEP to be released and stabilized first. Then we can run a poll after a few weeks how many people actually have the cep installed, how many haven't but are willing to do so and how many say i...

sounds nice... but please do use a small item (1x1) and not a 2x2 item.

Maybe the item could also hold the stuff the emote wand does too?

*hopes for it to weigh less than 1.0 lbs.*

If Copap needs a custom icon for it just tell me ;)

read the manual ;) http://www.reapers.org/nwn/reference/compiled/function.GetWeight.html GetWeight() returns the weight of all items carried by a character or one item in tenths of lbs!! so you need to divide by 100 and not 10 since your 16 lbs make 160 tenths of lbs ;) aaaand: you may want to apply...
